How Could Egyptian Help Jewish People Preserve Hebrew?

ATTENTION BOOK OF MORMON BELIEVERS:
HOW COULD A RECORD WRITTEN IN THE EGYPTIAN LANGUAGE HELP
JEWISH PEOPLE PRESERVE THE LANGUAGE OF THEIR FATHERS?

Yet the Book of Mormon claims that the official “record of the Jews” (7:61) who were living in Jerusalem in the year 600 B.C. — which record was supposed to be “engraven upon plates of brass” (1 Nephi 1:61) so they “should never perish neither should they be dimmed any more by time” (1 Nephi 1:170) — were engraven “IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE EGYPTIANS” (Mosiah 1:4-6). Nephi further declares that it was needful to obtain these brass plates WRITTEN IN EGYPTIAN so “that we may PRESERVE UNTO OUR CHILDREN THE LANGUAGE OF OUR FATHERS” (1 Nephi 1:82). How could a record written in the Egyptian language preserve the Jewish language?

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ‘TW0 STONES” THAT WERE TO BE SEALED UP WITH THE JAREDITE RECORD FOR ITS TRANSLATION?

The Book of Mormon claims that God told the brother of Jared to write his record in a language “THAT NO ONE CAN INTERPRET…THAT THEY CAN NOT BE READ. And behold THESE TWO STONES will I give unto thee and ye shall SEAL THEM UP ALSO, WITH THE THINGS which ye shall write…THAT THESE STONES shall magnify to the eyes of men, these things which ye shall write” (Ether 1:87-89). Yet when these records were finally found the STONES WERE NOT WITH THEM. Through a men named Ammon these records were finally taken to Mosiah who ALREADY HAD A “GIFT FROM GOD”…“WHEREWITH THAT HE CAN LOOK, AND TRANSLATE ALL RECORDS THAT ARE OF ANCIENT DATE” (Mosiah 5:72). So Jared’s brother’s records are finally translated — NOT BY “TWO STONES SEALED UP WITH” THE RECORD FOR THAT PURPOSE, but by Mosiah who already had a gift for translating before he received the record. GOD DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES. Could these dilemmas be the result of Joseph Smith being an unlearned man?

The Bible tells us to “TRY THE SPIRITS WHETHER THEY ARE OF GOD:” BECAUSE MANY FALSE PROPHETS ARE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD” (1 John 4:1). It is “IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE” (Heb. 6:18). We at one time believed in the Book of Mormon, but when presented with the facts, we had to admit that the book did not have the fingerprints of God’s hand on it — neither could it have been written by Jews leaving Jerusalem around 600 BC. Our prayer and hope is that others may see that “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners .spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. HATH IN THESE LAST DAYS SPOKEN UNTO US BY HIS SON…” (Heb. 1:1-2). The record of that message is in our Bible. And in Jesus Christ, “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge…” HE DIED FOR ALL THAT THEY WHICH LIVE SHOULD NOT HENCEFORTH LIVE UNTO THEMSELVES, BUT UNTO HIM WHICH DIED FOR THEM, AND ROSE AGAIN.” (Col. 2:3 and 2 Cor. 5.15).
